MESSAGE RECAP
If you read Jesus' High Priestly prayer for us in John 17, you can't walk away without seeing the theme of unity.  Particularly in verses 22-23.  Unity within the church is vital to the spread of the gospel.  That is the problem that Paul takes on in Ephesians 2:11-22.  Religious, social and political barriers can set back the mission of the church and the spreading of the gospel.

REFLECTION

1. How do you deal with others that have different religious, political or moral views than yourself?
2. There are those that have a perspective of the world that is not based upon biblical truth.  Are you able to engage them?
3. Unity does not mean that we must all agree but we must deal with our differences with civility. How can we do this better?

Sometimes it is just easier to rail against all the sins of the world rather than look to see our own sin - something we all have in common.  When this occurs we are distracted by the evil of the world and lose sight of Jesus and the gospel.
