MESSAGE RECAP & REFLECTION QUESTIONS
The great commission reminds us that we are to be more than receivers of the word of God but also sharers. Our command is to go to the world and make disciples. An important way in which we do this is through the church. Do you recognize the fact that as people see the church and the people that make up the church, they are seeing the gospel? Acts 2:47 says that the church, because it was doing the essentials of its calling, had the favor of all the people. This resulted in people coming to Christ. In verses 41-46 Luke records 6 essential facets of the first church. Consider your standing in these areas. Are you making disciples by your engagement in baptism, teaching/learning, prayer, fellowship, worship, and evangelism? We are called to receive the gifts of God in order to share them. What specific steps will you take this week to accomplish both of these facets? Share your steps with somebody else (spouse, friend, accountability partner, etc.). |
