"As disciples of Christ we want to grow and mature in our faith and understanding of Jesus and his teachings."
James chapter 1 confronts 3 areas of the disciples life that need to be evaluated. First, what is the purpose of life struggles/trials? James indicates that these trials are a part of a process. But what is the end result? Second, when we confront trials in the wrong way we can enter into temptation. Temptation results when Satan twists God's truth to meet evil ends. Finally, now that we know the truth of trials and temptations, James says be doers of the word not just hearers. What are we going to do with this teaching?

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
- How is God using my current trials to shape me to be more like Him?
- What is it that I need to remove from my life that lures me and entice me to sin? Form a strategy to employ when temptation is presented to you.
- What is it that I know God has called me to do or to take action that I have been hesitant or resistant to do?
