"Don't Let the Enemy In" by Land of Color
This has been a camper-favorite song the past 2 weeks at Camp Mantowagan and is packed full of clever reminders of our walk with Christ. The verses focus on how we are concerned with external things. If we saw a lion attacking a loved one, we'd do our best to stop the attack. If a robber broke into our homes, we'd do everything in our power to stop the robbery. Then the Pre-Chorus makes a great statement: "We take care of our bodies, we take care of our things. But what about these hearts that we've given to the King?" We should be good stewards of the things God has given us. But, we often get so caught up in those things that we don't protect our hearts from satan's attacks. The Chorus repeats "Don't let the enemy in." Repetition is good and important if we want to remember something. Ephesians 6:11-12 reminds us to "Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places." |
The final verse reminds us of the truth of the kingdom of God. This story really happened! Rather than rehashing it here, I encourage you to read through the entire song at the link below!
