"Chain Breaker" by Zach Williams
Nothing that we can ever face - our pain, loss of direction, even our desperate need for salvation - is ever bigger than our God! The chorus of this song tells us He’s a pain taker, a way maker, a prison-shaking Savior, and a chain breaker! The verses of this song look at our helpless state apart from Christ. Sometimes we feel like we’ve been walking the same road with no end. When we struggle, we often hear the same lies over and over again from the enemy. We have holes in our life that can only be filled with Jesus, but instead we try to fill them with other things. Even good things like family, hobbies, or success fall short in fulfilling our lives. We go searching for “light” in the wrong places and we totally exhaust ourselves trying to fight our own battles. Sometimes we run to our sin (“things we know just ain’t right”) hoping to numb the pain. But the Gospel reminds us there is a better life! Life with Jesus is better than any other path we could take. |
