"Glorious Day" by Kristian Stanfill
This week our teens led us in a song all about our new life in Jesus Christ. The first two verses echo the beginning of Ephesians 2. "I was buried beneath my shame. Who could carry that kind of weight? It was my tomb, til I met You. I was breathing, but not alive. All my failures, I tried to hide. It was my tomb, til I met You." The chorus triumphantly declares that in Jesus we have new life! "You called my name and I ran out of that grave. Out of the darkness, into Your glorious day." When we surrender our lives to Jesus, He brings life to our souls and calls us into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). The third verse talks about our salvation and the freedom we gain in Jesus. "Now Your mercy has saved my soul. Now Your freedom is all that I know. The old made new, Jesus, when I met You." When we surrender to Jesus, we are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). |
