Sunday Morning Worship Service:
MESSAGE RECAP & REFLECTION QUESTIONS
As Christians, we are to put ourselves under our leaders. We are to honor leaders even if we disagree with them. Romans 13:1 says, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
Here are two quotes which stand out:
4. How are Christians to put away the “clothes of darkness” and put on Christ, the “clothes of righteousness”? (See Romans 13:11-14)

- How should we pray for our leaders? (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Take a little time to pray for our government leaders and law enforcement.
- When do you think it’s alright to disobey government officials? (Acts 5:29: “We must obey God rather than men.”) Provide examples when this is permissible.
- What do you think of the video (shown Sunday) on the importance of religion to democracy? Here’s the link if you would like to see it again: https://www.youtube.com/embed/YjntXYDPw44
Here are two quotes which stand out:
- “The reason government works, most of the people, most of the time, volunteer to obey the laws and when people are accountable to God, they will be accountable to government.”
- “If you take away religion you can’t hire enough police.”
