"Order My Steps"
written by Glenn Burleigh This week's song - selected by Pastor Daryl - is a beautiful prayer set to melody. The title and theme of the song come from Psalm 119:133 which says (in the ESV), "Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me." The King James Version says, "Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." Here are some lyrics from this prayer... "Order my steps in Your Word, dear Lord." Every decision we make in life should be consistent with what God says in Scripture - His Word. "Lead me, guide me every day." We don't just need to lean on Him when we struggle, and we can't just trust him with things are good. We need Him EVERY DAY. "Humbly I ask Thee, teach me Your will." If we want to know what God has in store for us, we should approach Him boldly, yet humbly. He has all of the answers, we do not. "While You are working, help me be still." This is a struggle for so many of us. We often don't see how God is working in a situation and we try to take matters into our own hands. This is a great reminder and important prayer to pray. |
